Blogger Spotlight: Erica Fae

ImageI understand how much time and energy and work goes into blogging and making youtube videos, because I do both and barely have either to really execute the content of my creative outlets as beautifully as I want to. So I have much respect to bloggers/youtubers who obviously put alot of energy into their blog/channel. I’m always mentioning other blogger babes on my blog, however the fact that I’ve failed to mentioned miss Erica Fae until now baffles me. I have been a fan of Erica’s youtube channel for quite a few months now, and whenever I feel like my wardrobe needs something new I usually go to her channel for consultation. This young woman has a beyond amazing fashion eye, and she styles everything she owns so beautifully. Her most recent holiday lookbook video is what made me write this blog, because I’m sitting here watching this video literally dying over every single outfit. Check out her blog, tumblr, and of course youtube channel to check out a bit more of Miss Erica Fae.

Nasty Gal Fall 2013 Collection Review

Image

Nastygal.com Fall 2013

I have been a fan of Nasty Gal for a good while, constantly stalking and posting on Pintrest their pieces that I love but can’t buy until after I pay rent. But I have ordered shoes from them before and they do have great customer service. Anyway while recently viewing the sites new arrivals, I noticed Nastygal had recently released their fall 2013 collection. The minute I opened the tab to this collection I was amazed, really like nothing I’ve seen before, especially not from an online  based brand. 5 words to describe the collection: SLEEK, TEXTURED , EASY, TAILORED & OIL SLICK (I’m deciding that one word at the moment). If I could I would buy this whole collection. All the pieces in this collection can easily mix, matched, and paired together and look like no thought was put into at all ,in a good way of course. Major applause to Nastygal and their design team for producing such a unique fun and refreshing fall collection.

You betta work!

Sorry for the lack of post lately, but I thought I would come back with my favorite thing to talk about, fashion! Wearing skater dresses and tweed blazers to work is a thing of the past. Women have been dominating the job industry more and more over the years, and lately these dominating women have been dominating the fashion scene as well. It doesn’t hurt to look like the head bitch in charge if you are on. Werrrrrk it ladies!

Recent Inspirations.

Hello again! So I know it has a been far too long since I have written a post, I have been very busy with school, and I have finals next week. However I’m giving myself a much needed break tonight & have been on my favorite blogs & youtube channels becoming re inspired.

I love this simple, somewhat mens inspired look for spring. I recently thrifted a pair of distressed oversized jeans and havent been able to stop wearing them. I cant wait to pair them with a pair of heels.

I’m very picky about where I choose to online shop, and I usually stick to what I know and love. But after hearing so much hype about romwe.com I decided to give it a look and loved almost everything I saw. If I wasn’t a broke college student trying to stay on a budget I would probably have a shopping binge on that site.

My 3 Fashion Icons.

My style is always changing, I can never just stick to one look for a long period of time. I’m a gemini and were known for having multiple personalities, which is definitely not a bad thing when it comes to fashion. Currently my closest consist of the clothing inspired by Rachel Zoe, Whitney Port, and Miley Cyrus and here’s why…

1. Miley Cyrus embodies the new generation of California cool. Cali girls use to be known for their coachella-esque style but not its all about pulling off really masculine and basic pieces  and making them look so hot and femine. Because of Miley I have added alot of beanies and camo into my closet.

2. Whitney Port use to be the poster girl for California cool, however since her move to New York city to become a designer her sense of style has taken on a downtown New Yorker vibe and I really like it. It’s like she can throw on whatever it doesn’t even have to match and it still looks amazing and put together. Oversized sweaters and printed dresses in my closet are Miss Port’s doing.

3. Rachel Zoe. OMG I DIE for her! She is the queen of over the top fashion done right, fur, drag queen heels, over sized denium, chunky accesories. Who wouldn’t want to dress like rachel zoe. She’s the reason I now have blue and gray faux fur vest in my closet and I love it! Oh how can I not mention how amazing she is as a designer!

LESSISMORE.

I’m usually someone who goes all out with every outfit every day. However now being in my second semester of college I have gotten extremely lazy, like to dangerous level! A year ago you would have never caught me dead in a hoodie and leggings with no makeup on and my naturally curly hair on an almost daily basis. I’m learning though that I don’t have to go all out to feel cute or super sloppy to feel comfy and get ready quickly. Minimalist wardrobe here I come!

Warm & Fabulous

I’m not a big fan of cold weather at all, I actually hate it. On the upside I do love layer and here are some pics of some of my favorite layering fashionistas.

Style Crush:Miley Cyrus

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the serious style swag Miss Miley Cyrus has gained recently. Maybe its her new body, her reborn career, or her recent engagement but what ever it is this girl exudes the idagf attitude with her newly defined country/punk wardrobe. Her staple high bun and combat boots are definitely far from her alter ego Hannah Montana and I’ve been definitely been trying to find my Miley Cyrus alter ego now. Officially style obsessed.

the backless sweater.

I love Whitney Ports entire look here, as she’s running errand in LA. She’s one of those people who was designed for Hollister and Abcrombie type typical conformist clothes, but she really has a style of her own. So many people have been on and off the “boho chic” trend but she looks like she lives in a van parked at Woodstock in 1964, and thats not a bad thing! I don’t know where each of her peices are from, but sunglasses kind of look like they are from nicole richies clothing line The Row. And I believe the sweater is a Whitney Eve design. Something I definately want to get my hand on for the summer.
